Herbal & Natural Skincare

Learn how to care for and nourish your skin from the inside and out using nutrition and your own herbal homemade beauty products. This course will teach you about the needs of your skin at every stage of life and how to care for it naturally

During this day class you will learn:

  • How to look after you skin by cleansing the liver and lymphatic system.
  • The importance of using all natural, good enough to eat, products on your skin.
  • Skin nourishing nutrition - what foods are beneficial for your skin and why. Which herbs are specific for skin health and how to incorporate them into your skin care making.
  • Herbal oils - making your own from plants and an introduction to and sampling of different oils and their properties for making your own skincare products
  • Natural suncreens - how to be sun safe
  • Natural hair care - alternatives to chemical shampoos and conditioner

During this course you will be testing:

 

  • Homemade face masks
  • Herbal toners
  • Herbal creams for your skin type

Watch demonstrations of:

  • Making your own natural deodorant
  • Making herbal creams to suit your skin type
  • Making a body scrub for exfoliation Making your own natural lipbalm
  • Making your own sunscreen
  • Making your own shampoo from plants

Take home samples of the products made on the day including:

  • Natural deodorant
  • Herbal cream
  • Body scrub

Handout full of recipes for all your homemade skincare needs is included.

About Bareroot Botanicals

Bareroot Botanicals is a nursery and herb farm based in north county Sligo which specialises in medicinal plants from around the world. It is owned and ran by Iona Herbal Herbalists Ross Hennessy and Marina Kesso.

We hope that through our nursery and the courses we run on the farm that we will empower people to use and grow these plants and see an ancient form of natural healing passed onto another generation.
